Poem 2

I don't think I ever knowThe way my eyes and soul could goHow things feel full depending onThe rate and pace and potentialPut me in a shallow holeA place you might once have knownWhere things are more meaningfulTo you, to me when you returnI am further on the gravel roadNo shoes, I walk towards the coast I loose my grip upon the ropeAnd put my focus back on youThe sound of hope and love I sungAgain becomes the anthem ofMy heartbeat drums your birdsongLike a dove but darker though

I met you in the car you wereAs pretty as the flowersHow I have more of proof in thatYou (were) meant to haunt my momentsI liked the story that you wroteSo much that I put it intoA long held time spent talkingAnd work towards a conclusionSay once more what you had feltI light upon my cluttered shelfAnd see a silent silhouetteAn outline of your figuresEvery memory of words exchangedLike touches in the softer placesAre showing in all I had saidI said I felt your callousnessBut rough like lack of hopefulnessHow sad it is to see yourselfLost inside of someone elseNot you, but not solely them

You are to me not fully thatI was in place; occupanceBut wrong that love encompassesA destiny of veritasBe for me one patientlyI wait across the summer breezeThe trial of being distanced isMore in flesh and head than love could bringIf they had met that ghost I sawAnd held with arms closed tightly onWould my hope then not be misplaced?Could my love then not be erased?
