Poem 1

I have no idea how it came to thisThere's less time than I imaginedI put my heart in the fragments I had heldThere was not enough to fix the errorI let my mind fill with dark words in itThoughts of death and all this emptinessYou were more of a ghost I had knownYou are a part of the path I had choseI hoped to be there from the first step you tookWhen I can't even stop myself from being hurtI told you all that I kept in my mindI hoped you to be all I would findYou are the moon and the sky, the starsAll I can feel when my eyes go darkThe feeling of warmth flows over the cupTill it swallows and drains through my bloodI know that reach and length throughTimes I heard you call across the yardI fell and tripped and looked back upYou turned and carried on I thoughtMore if meaning contemplatesThe distance from the nearest placeA vision held for longer thanThe grace left in an empty handYou're left alone in colder airI shiver, breath draws shallowerMy eyes rest weary on your frameI go to where we both remainAt heights upon the mountain topYou are at last the lonely oneThe forest floor holds rotten bonesI know you from a chance meetingStill it feels a vacant sceneA dawn breaks shadows wake too fakeTo take a heart belongs to fateThe melody holds you in toneA poem no one dares to knowI wrote and told you I was goneFrom homes I hoped to see once moreBecoming now more one sidedNot so much a perfect thingBetter than what loss would bringExperiencing a connection
