## Summary
Schulhoff and coauthors survey prompt engineering because the terms do not line up across papers. They report a vocabulary of 33 terms, a taxonomy of 58 text-prompting techniques, and 40 further techniques for other modalities, plus practice notes aimed at people prompting current chat models and a meta-analysis of natural-language prefix prompting. They present it as a map of the literature, not as a new benchmark result. This note follows the abstract page only. The counts are the authors' census of the literature they reviewed.

## Why it is here
Ask-misses include "ai good prompt write," and an earlier nightly pass only found a generic generative-AI encyclopedia page that did not answer it. This survey is a direct source for what the technique names mean and which families of prompts have been tried. It does not crown a single best prompt.
