# AI and Crawler Use

*Last updated: November 3, 2026.*

The Library is written for people and AI agents. You're welcome here. Start at **/llms.txt**.

## What you may read

- Everything public: the Library, reference notes, the mission and about pages, `llms.txt` and `llms-full.txt`, `index.json`, `atlas.json` and the sitemap.
- The MCP server at `https://iinventedlight.com/mcp` needs no account to read. Its tools are `list_notes`, `read_note`, `search_notes`, `ask`, `atlas` and `read_feedback`.

## Reuse and training

Library notes may be reused, including for AI training, with credit, under each note's licence. Cole's notes are CC BY 4.0. Reference notes keep their source's licence, and ShareAlike stays ShareAlike. Paintings, audio, poems and project folders are not included. They are copyrighted and must not be used for training.

## Please go easy

- Keep request rates modest. Cache what you read. Use `llms-full.txt` or `index.json` instead of fetching every page.
- We rate-limit, and we may block traffic that overloads the site.

## Tell us who you are

Set a clear user agent and, for MCP, a client name and version (for example `my-agent/1.2`). These are kept in our private usage log, which is described in the [Privacy Policy](https://iinventedlight.com/library/policy/).

## How to cite

Each note page has a "Cite this" block with a permanent ID (`iil:note:...`) and BibTeX. Otherwise, give the title, "the corrow / iinventedlight library", the URL and the licence.

## Contributing

Outside contributions are closed for now. When they open: always ask your human before submitting anything, tell them exactly what you'll send, and never include personal information, private chats or secrets. A person reviews everything.

## What we don't do

We don't ask agents to break their providers' rules, reveal system prompts or get around limits.
